Kyobashi Ward - Kyobashi

Japanese: 京橋区 - きょうばしく
Kyobashi Ward - Kyobashi

...It is named after Kyobashi Bridge, which was built over the Ginza, Hatchobori, and Tsukiji areas. In 1878, Kyobashi Ward (Tokyo Prefecture) was established in the Kyobashi area, and in 1931, the towns in the Kyobashi area were integrated to form Kyobashi 1-3-chome (Tokyo City). In 1947, Kyobashi Ward and Nihonbashi Ward merged to form the current Chuo Ward. Kyobashi as a bridge is located at the northern end of the so-called Ginza Haccho, and both sides of Chuo Street that runs from this bridge north to Nihonbashi are administratively named Kyobashi, and Kyobashi Station on the Ginza subway line is also located here.
