Okando - Okando

...A historian from the late Qing to the Republic of China. Born in Haining County, Zhejiang Province, his courtesy name was Jing'an and his pen name was Guandang. In 1898 (the 24th year of the Guangxu era), he entered the Eastern Literature Society in Shanghai, where his academic talent was gradually recognized, and he subsequently received special attention from Luo Zhenyu. In 1901, he went to Japan to study at the Physics School, but he suffered from beriberi and returned to Japan the following year, following Luo Zhenyu to teach at a normal school. In 1911, when the Xinhai Revolution broke out, he defected to Japan with Luo Zhenyu and stayed in Kyoto. While studying at the Eastern Literature Society, he resonated with the philosophies of Schopenhauer and Nietzsche, and also loved literature. ...

…中国，清末から民国の歴史学者。浙江省海寧県の生れで，字は静安，号は観堂。1898年(光緒24)に上海の東文学社に入学してしだいに学才を認められ，以後羅振玉から特別に目をかけられるようになる。1901年に日本に留学して物理学校に学んだが脚気を患って翌年に帰国し，羅振玉に従って師範学校の教職に就いたりする。11年，辛亥革命がおこると羅振玉とともに日本に亡命し，京都に滞在した。彼は東文学社在学時からショーペンハウアーやニーチェなどの哲学に共鳴し，また文学を愛好した。…
