A national park in the northwest of Washington State, United States. It covers an area of 3,702 square kilometers. It was established in 1938. It is located in the Olympic Mountains (highest point Mount Olympus, 2,428 meters), which are part of the Coast Range. The eastern part of the mountain range is one of the driest areas in the state, but the western side is a temperate rainy zone with an annual rainfall of 330 millimeters, and the moss-covered forests of fir, cedar, and spruce that look like clouds are magnificent. There are many lakes and rivers, and the beautiful coastline and glaciers of the Pacific Ocean are also popular, as are many wild animals such as elk and bears. In 1981, it was registered as a natural World Heritage Site (World Natural Heritage Site).
