Japanese: 教育研究集会 - きょういくけんきゅうしゅうかい
Educational research conference - Educational research conference

...Abbreviation for the educational research conference organized by teachers' unions such as the Japan Teachers' Union (Nikkyoso). Founded in June 1947, Nikkyoso has continued to fight for the establishment of teachers' rights and the improvement of their living conditions, but with the intensification of the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union, government policies changed, and in the climate of what was called a "reverse course," Nikkyoso decided that the Fundamental Law of Education had become hollow in education. In January 1951, at the Central Committee meeting, the slogan "Don't send our students back to the battlefield" was raised, and at the May convention, a policy was set forth to strongly promote the "struggle to establish independent education" alongside the struggle to protect lives and rights, and the organization promised to begin organized research activities.
