...The Kagekiyo of the Kojoruri is a direct adaptation of the script of the Kōwakamai. In the world of early modern Joruri and Kabuki, the Kagekiyo stories occupy a particularly important position alongside the Hangan and Soga stories. Many of the Kagekiyo stories, including Chikamatsu Monzaemon's Shusse Kagekiyo and Bunkodō and Hasegawa Senshi's Dannoura Kabuto Gunki, are adaptations or adaptations based on the Kōwakamai Kagekiyo, but there are also adaptations of the Noh play Kagekiyo, such as the unknown author's Kamakura Sode Nikki, which features Kagekiyo's daughter Hitomaru as the heroine. *Some of the terminology that refers to "Kagekiyomono" is listed below.
