〘 noun 〙 A legacy or inheritance. It came into use after the late Muromachi period. The term used when a fief has passed away and the remaining fief is considered as an inheritance. 〘名〙 遺領、遺産のこと。室町後期以後用いられた。知行人がなくなって、あとに残った所領を相続の対象としてみる時の称。一跡(いっせき)。跡職(あとしき)。跡目(あとめ)。※玄以法印下知状集‐天正一一年（1583）八月二〇日「当郷之儀。親王様御料所一職付。夫役并諸役等之儀相除之条」
