...Kihassoku is the name used mainly in various parts of Wakayama Prefecture, and is said to have been named because this fish is difficult to cook and requires a wooden spoon to cook. It is also called Kihaccho in Yuasa, Shuriki in Miwazaki, Nabekosage in Wakaura, Sonewase in Nagasaki, and Washidai in Kagoshima.
