Crown Cap Peak

Located in North Hamgyong Province, North Korea, it is the second highest peak in Korea. It is 2,541 meters above sea level. It is the main peak of the Hamgyong Mountains, which run from northeast to southwest on the northeastern edge of the Gaema Plateau, which occupies a vast area in the northeastern part of the Korean Peninsula. The mountain is made up of granite and granite gneiss, but has been subject to tectonic erosion, and parts of the summit remain high-lying peneplains from before the uplift, and glacial landforms can also be seen in some areas.

北朝鮮、咸鏡北道(かんきょうほくどう／ハムギョンプクド)にある朝鮮第二の高峰。標高2541メートル。朝鮮半島北東部の広大な地域を占める蓋馬(かいま／ケーマー)高原の北東辺で、北東から南西に走る咸鏡山脈の主峰である。山体は花崗(かこう)岩と花崗片麻(へんま)岩からなっているが、構造侵食作用を受けており、山頂の一部には隆起前の高位置準平原が残り、氷食地形も一部に認められている。
