Edutainment - Edutainment

...A method of using not only text but also various types of expressions such as figures, tables, photos, videos, and music on a computer. It is more intuitive and easier to understand than documents made up of text alone, is more familiar because it allows for the addition of aesthetic and playful elements, allows readers to view documents in any order they like, and has excellent search functions.

Research into the use of images and sound on computers began in the 1960s, but it was not until the mid-1980s that these technologies were combined and made available within the framework of a common operating system.
