A port in Fukuoka Prefecture. Located at the northernmost tip of Kyushu, facing the Suo-Nada Sea to the east and the Kanmon Strait to the north. Established in April 1974. The port administrator is Kitakyushu City. International hub port (designated April 2011). The port area is 15,904 hectares. Container routes linking Korea, China, and other countries run through the port, and ferries linking the Kanto and Kinki regions also depart and arrive here.
