Snātaka (English spelling)

Hindus ideally divide their lives into four periods: student, home-dweller, forest-dweller, and wanderer, and aim to live each period according to the law. The first period, student, involves receiving religious education under a master for about 12 years, and those who complete this period and take their final bath are called Snatakas (those who have undergone ablutions).
