...For a while after that, the influence of Tomimoto did not reach that of Mojitayu, but from the Bunka and Bunsei eras (1804-30), Mojitayu III and Mojitayu IV became active. However, in 1860 (Man'en 1), Mojitayu IV (Bungo Daijo) and Kishizawa Koshikibu IV (Shikisa 5) came into conflict, and the Kishizawa faction split off and became independent. The common theory is that the cause was a dispute over the success of Sanzesou Nishikibunsho, which was a huge hit in 1857 (Ansei 4), but since they were together for two years after the performance of Sanzesou, it is assumed that this was not the only reason, and that Kishizawa Koshikibu had a desire to become independent, which happened to surface as a result of the conflict with Mojitayu.
