"Kyochu Fugyōhen" - Kyochu Fugyōhen

...It consists of three volumes, "Genkyo (What is the teaching?)", "Kougenkyo" and "Kansho", and is included in the "Tsutsubunshu", a complete collection of Keikaku's works. There is also a separate "Kyochufukyohen" (The Jiaozhu Fukyo section) which Keikaku wrote his own annotations, and it was republished in Japan and influenced Gozan literature. In response to the Tang dynasty's Han Yu's "Genkyo", "Genjin", "Gendo" and other works of the same name which clarify the tradition of Confucianism and expel Buddhism as heresy, the author asserts once again that the three religions of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism have the same principles. He inherited the "Kōmei-shu" and "Kōkōmei-shu", which are books on the same theme from the Six Dynasties, and it was written from the beginning in the hope of being incorporated into the Tripitaka, and it seems that he intended to take the lead against the anti-Buddhist movement of Song sect....

…〈原教(教えとは何か)〉〈広原教〉〈勧書〉の3編より成り，契嵩の著作全集である《鐔津文集》にも収める。別にみずから注をつけた《夾注輔教編》があり，日本で再刊されて，五山文学に影響を与えた。著者は，唐の韓愈が同じ名の〈原教〉および〈原人〉〈原道〉などを書いて，儒教の伝統を明らかにし，仏教を異端として排撃するのに対し，あらためて儒仏道三教がその原理を一にすることを主張するのであり，六朝以来の同じテーマの書である《弘明集》や《広弘明集》を継承し，当初より大蔵経への編入を求めて書かれ，宋学の排仏運動に先手を打つ意図をもっていたようである。…
