…From the 13th century to the mid-14th century, the most important literary works were lyric poems. These were the cantigas de amor (songs of a man who is in love with a beautiful woman), which were created under the influence of the troubadours of southern France, satirical poems, and the cantigas de amigo (songs of a woman who is in love with a beloved man), which were a descendant of traditional oral literature. These are currently collected in three collections of ancient songs.
