…In 1545, together with Yi Sangsa and others, he produced a portrait of the late King Jungjong. He developed his own style of painting flowers, hair ornaments, and cats and dogs in the style of the Southern Song Dynasty Mao Yi, and has long been known in Japan under the name Kanzan Seichu. Kano Eino's Honcho Ga-shi erroneously records him as a Muromachi period monk painter, but his style may have influenced early modern Japanese flower and bird paintings. …
