Insulation paint - Zetsuentoryou (English spelling) coating for insulation

A paint that forms a coating film with high electrical insulation. Typical forms of insulating paint include varnish, powder paint, and electrocoating paint, and they are used according to the material and shape of the object to be coated and the required film thickness. Varnish is generally made by dissolving resin in a solvent, but there are also types that do not use solvents, such as unsaturated polyester resin and epoxy resin. Polyamide-imide resin and silicone resin are used for applications that require heat resistance. They are used for impregnating coils and cloth tubes, and for processing enameled wire, etc. Powder paint is a paint that does not use a solvent, and mainly uses epoxy resin as the base resin, and is applied by thermal fusion or static electricity. It is used for insulating coating of the exterior of electronic components and motor slots (grooves for winding coils), which require a relatively thick film. For electronic components, it is generally used to impart flame retardancy. Electrocoating paint is a paint that uses water or a solvent as a solvent, and electrically attaches charged paint particles to metal objects. Epoxy resin is mainly used as the base resin, and polyimide resin or polyamide-imide resin is used for applications that require heat resistance. It is used in applications where a thin, uniform coating is required for small parts such as micromotors.

電気絶縁性の高い塗膜を形成する塗料。絶縁塗料の代表的な形態としてはワニス、粉体塗料、電着塗料等があるが、被塗物の材質や形状、必要とされる膜厚に応じて使い分けられる。ワニスは樹脂を溶剤に溶かしたものが一般的であるが、不飽和ポリエステル樹脂やエポキシ樹脂等では溶剤を用いないタイプもある。耐熱性が必要な用途にはポリアミドイミド樹脂やシリコーン樹脂が使用される。コイル、布管の含浸、エナメル線加工等に用いられる。粉体塗料は溶剤を用いない塗料で、ベース樹脂としてはおもにエポキシ樹脂を使用し、熱溶融や静電気により塗装される。比較的厚膜を要求される電子部品の外装やモータースロット（コイルを巻く溝）の絶縁塗装に用いられる。電子部品用では難燃性付与が一般的である。電着塗料は水あるいは溶剤を溶媒とした塗料で、荷電した塗料粒子を金属系被塗物に電気的に付着させる。ベース樹脂としてはおもにエポキシ樹脂が使用され、耐熱性が必要な用途にはポリイミド樹脂やポリアミドイミド樹脂が使用される。マイクロモーター等の小型部品で薄膜均一塗装が必要な用途に用いられる。
