Gen Ken
Also called freeboard. The vertical height from the water surface to the deck of a ship. As the draft deepens, the freeboard becomes smaller, and the danger increases in rough weather, so in order to ensure a safe freeboard, the method of determining the waterline when fully loaded is stipulated. → Full load waterline mark
