They are a Bantu-speaking ethnic group living in a vast area in south-central Kenya, and speak the Kamba language. Their population is estimated at about 3 million. They live in a vast area in south-central Kenya. Their main occupations are farming and raising livestock such as cattle and goats, and they also once engaged in hunting and trading ivory. Kamba society is divided into about 25 clans (mbai) of patrilineal descent. There is a legend that the Kamba people migrated from near Mount Kilimanjaro.
