Japanese: 為替予約 - かわせよやく

〘Noun〙① A trader agrees on an exchange rate with an exchange bank beforehand, before making an export document shipment or accepting an import document shipment. It is also called a forward exchange transaction. [New English-Japanese Dictionary of Commerce (1904)]② When an export contract is actually concluded, or when import approval or an import quantity is allocated from the government, a trader presents the foreign currency amount and the Japanese yen conversion rate to the bank and reserves an exchange rate.
