ATP - Association of Tennis Professionals

Japanese: ATP - ATP/えーてぃーぴー(英語表記)Association of Tennis Professionals
ATP - Association of Tennis Professionals
The governing body of the men's professional tour. Formed in 1972. Tennis has a long history, and has followed its own path since early on, including professional activities. In the late 1960s, as the sport opened up, the US World Championship Tennis (WCT) launched its own tour to compete with the International Tennis Federation (ITF)'s world tour. After losing an antitrust lawsuit, the ITF embraced the ATP and formed the Men's International Professional Tennis Council (MIPTC). However, this unconventional management was swept away by the commercialization of sports that spurred on in the 1980s, and in 1990 the tour was transferred to full ATP control. Following the spread of the sport with the collapse of the Cold War, in 2000 the ATP, in collaboration with the ITF and the Grand Slam Committee, reorganized the tour with the Masters Series at the top. Currently, in addition to the four Grand Slams, there are 63 tours held in 30 countries around the world, including the Masters Cup (1), Masters Series (9), International Series (43), International Gold (9), and Team Championships. The total prize money for the tour is $63,554,594. In addition, it also oversees smaller tournaments such as Challenger, Futures, and Satellite. Its CEO is Etienne Villiers (South Africa).

ATP

A substance that acts as the "currency" of energy in living organisms. It is made up of three phosphates linked to adenosine, with two of these having high-energy phosphate bonds at the end. When it is hydrolyzed, one phosphate is removed to form ADP (adenosine diphosphate), and another is removed to form AMP (adenosine monophosphate), releasing a large amount of energy that is used as energy for various biological activities. ATP is also important as a precursor to RNA.

Japanese:
独占禁止法の訴訟に敗れたITFはATPを抱き込んでMIPTC(Men's International Professional Tennis Council)を組織した。

ATP
