Kamigoto - God

...A special day on which people must observe taboo and refrain from going out or working. Ikibi is also called kamigoto, monobi, tachibi, toshinohi, etc., and as awareness of taboo has faded, some have become simple days off, but originally it meant a day to observe strict taboo and to purify oneself during festivals and annual events. On Ikibi, people not only refrain from traveling or working, but also from cutting vegetables or lighting fires in the fields, and generally lead quiet and modest lives without making noise or making any noise.
