Also known as mechanistic materialism. A materialism that explains everything, including human consciousness and mental phenomena, through mechanical causal laws, and reduces everything to matter mechanically. It is said to be vulgar because it is even lower than 18th century materialism. It was popular among German biologists in the 19th century, including F. Büchner, K. Vogt, and J. Morescott. F.
