In addition, "irogi" is a roll of white cotton wrapped around the shoulders and waist, and "iro," "shiro," or "monkakushi" is a white cloth draped over the shoulders or folded in four and draped around the collar, which can also be considered a type of mourning clothes. Care should also be taken with headgear during mourning and funerals. If one went out during the 49-day period (hon'imi), it was customary to always wrap one's head in white cotton cloth, which was called "tentou osekore."
