In China, government officials' vacations were called "moku" (meaning washing hair) or "kanei" ("kanei" means leisure time and "kanei" means going home). We don't know much about how people took vacations in the pre-Qin period, but by the time the bureaucratic system was established in the Han period, documents show that vacations were legally guaranteed.
