French Catholic saint and priest. Founder of the Vincentian Missionaries and the Sisters of Charity of Vincentian de Paul. He preached the gospel to the poor throughout France, awakened their faith, and founded many schools and seminaries. He is well known for his friendship with François de Sales, but he also played an active role as a political mediator. In 1643, he became a member of the Committee of Conscience, which assisted Louis XIV in religious matters. He was canonized in 1737. His feast day is September 27.

フランスのカトリックの聖人，司祭。ビンセンシオ布教宣教会およびビンセンシオ･ア･パウロ愛徳姉妹会の創立者。フランス各地で貧民に福音を説き，信仰心をよび起こし，学校，神学校を数多く設立した。フランソア･ド･サールとの交友関係はよく知られているが，政治的にも調停者として活躍した。1643年宗教問題に関してルイ14世を助ける〈良心委員会〉のメンバーになっている。1737年に聖人に列せられた。祝日9月27日。
