Catholic People's Party

...However, rapid economic growth caused severe labor shortages, soaring wages and prices, and the migration of foreign workers in the early 1960s. With the collapse of the fourth Drees government (1958), the era of coalition governments consisting of all parties except the Communist Party, which had dominated Dutch politics after the war, came to an end. The Catholic People's Party (KVP) and the Labor Party, which had been the pillars of the coalition government, deepened their conflict, and in the 1959 election, following these two parties, the Liberal Democratic People's Party (VVD) emerged as the third party. ...

...However, the relationship between the Catholic Church and Catholic political parties varies considerably from country to country, and even within the same country over time.
