One of the leaders of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in the late Qing Dynasty of China. Born of the Hakka people in Guiping County, Guangxi Province. Although he was a charcoal burner and could not read or write, he consolidated the organization of the Shangdi Society with his divine words and actions, and when the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom was founded in 1851, he was appointed Eastern King, second only to Heavenly King Hong Xiuquan. He also made a great contribution to the advance into the Yangtze River basin, and took real power in place of Hong Xiuquan, but he gradually became tyrannical and engaged in a power struggle with North King Wei Changhui and Wing King Shi Dakai, and was killed by the North King along with his entire family.

中国，清末の太平天国の指導者の一人。広西省桂平県のハッカ (客家)の出身。炭焼きを家業とし，読み書きはできなかったが，その神がかり的言動で上帝会の組織を固め，咸豊1 (1851) 年の太平天国建国の際，東王に封じられ，天王洪秀全に次ぐ地位を得た。揚子江流域への進出にも大きな功績をあげ，洪秀全に代って実権を握ったが，次第に専横となり，北王韋昌輝，翼王石達開らと勢力争いを展開し，一族もろとも北王に殺された。
