Katsuragi Prefecture - Katsuragi no Agata

…According to the Kenso Pre-accession Chronicle in the Nihon Shoki, after the death of Emperor Seiwa, Princess Iitoyo no Aono, daughter of Emperor Richu (also said to be the daughter of Prince Ichinobe Oshiba), ruled the country at Oshiumitsunusashi Palace. After the fall of Katsuragi no Omi, Katsuragi Nao, who remained as a powerful clan in the Katsuragi region, is thought to have been in charge of Katsuragi Prefecture, but in 624 (the 32nd year of the reign of Empress Suiko), a member of the Soga clan who had become a maternal relative of the Imperial family, requested Katsuragi Prefecture as his main residence, but this was not permitted as it was a directly controlled territory. The name of Katsuragi Prefecture appears in the August Imperial Edict of the 1st year of the Taika Era (645) as one of the Six Prefectures of Yamato no Mutsu no Agata. …

…《日本書紀》顕宗即位前紀によれば清寧天皇没後，履中天皇皇女(市辺押羽皇子の子ともいう)の飯豊青皇女が忍海角刺宮（おしうみつぬさしのみや）に臨朝秉政（へいせい）したという。葛城臣の没落後，葛城地方の豪族として残った葛城直が，葛城県を管掌していたと思われるが，新たに大王家の外戚となった蘇我氏の馬子が624年(推古32)に葛城県を本居として請うているが直轄領のため許されなかった。葛城県の名は，大化1年(645)8月詔に倭六県（やまとのむつのあがた）の一つとしてみえる。…
