The ammonia solution in the generator is heated by a burner, and the ammonia gas rises together with the water vapor, is separated from the water in the separator, is liquefied in the condenser, and is mixed with hydrogen gas in the vaporizer, where it vaporizes rapidly, absorbing a large amount of heat of vaporization and cooling the interior of the refrigerator. It was imported to Japan in 1928, and domestically produced ammonia gases were also used until the 1970s.
