A military commander in the late Eastern Han Dynasty in China. Father of Sun Quan of the Three Kingdoms Dynasty of Wu. His pen name was Wen Tai. He was from Fuchun, Wu County (Fuyang County, Zhejiang Province). His posthumous name was Emperor Wulie. The Sun clan claims to be descendants of the military grandson, but he was merely a local lord. He defeated the bandits of Kuaiji and participated in putting down the Yellow Turban Rebellion. When the anti-Dong Zhuo army rose up, he raised an army to fight and served under Yuan Shu, where he was active as a military commander. He claimed to have invaded Luoyang and obtained the Imperial Seal. He was killed in battle against Liu Biao of Jingzhou in 192.
