Enclosure - Enclosure

The term "enclosure" refers to the act of enclosing land with hedges, stone walls, banks, etc., or to enclosed land. It is also called "enclosure." It was implemented to abolish the communal land ownership and use (common cultivation, communal weeding, communal grazing, etc.) under the open land system and to realize private ownership and personal use of land, and played an extremely important role in the modernization of British agriculture.
