This was an organization of Buddhist sculptors located in Tsubakii within Kofuku-ji Temple. It was active during the Muromachi period as a central force in the Nara Buddhist Temple after the Northern and Southern Court period. Its founding date is unknown, but it is said to be descended from the Kei school, which had close ties to Todai-ji Temple and Kofuku-ji Temple. Kankei, who created the Kissho Tenjizo statue at Kofuku-ji Temple, is considered to be the oldest Buddhist sculptor, and other known sculptors include Ninkei, Keishu, Shunkei, Seikei, Shukei, and Shunkei. Other Buddhist sculptors in Nara included the Takaten Buddhist Temple, the Fujisan Buddhist Temple, and the Noborioji Buddhist Temple.
