America's largest instant coffee manufacturer. Also a major player in instant foods. Abbreviated as GF. Headquartered in White Plains, New York. Founded in 1895 under the name Postum Cereal Co. to manufacture and sell coffee substitutes. The company subsequently developed a variety of instant foods and grew. In 1929, it successfully commercialized frozen foods and changed its name to its current name in the same year. After World War II, it began producing instant coffee, and in 1950 it succeeded in developing a technology to make instant coffee from coffee beans alone, which led to a significant increase in sales.

アメリカ最大手のインスタントコーヒー･メーカー。インスタント食品でも大手。略称GF。本社ニューヨーク州ホワイト･プレーンズ。1895年，コーヒーの代用品の製造販売を行う，ポスタム･シリアルPostum Cereal Co.の社名で設立された。その後，各種のインスタント食品を開発して成長を遂げた。1929年には冷凍食品の企業化に成功，同年社名を現在の名称に変更した。第2次大戦後インスタントコーヒーの生産に乗り出し，50年にはコーヒー豆だけからインスタントコーヒーを作る技術の開発に成功，これによって売上げを大きく伸ばした。
