...The betto ranks were divided into two groups: the fourth rank betto, which was appointed by the head of the kurodo, and the fifth rank (sixth rank) betto, which was appointed by kurodo of the fifth and sixth rank. The appointment and dismissal of musicians from 1110 to 1262 (Ten'ei 1 to Kocho 2) is known from the two volumes of the Gakusho Bonin, which shows that the so-called Rokuefu officials, consisting of the left and right Konoe, Hyoe, and Emon, were the mainstay, as well as musicians from temples and shrines such as Kofuku-ji Temple, Todai-ji Temple, and Iwashimizu Hachiman-gu Shrine. After 814 (Kōnin 5) during the Saga period, the music of the Rokuefu officials was often performed as entertainment at private banquets for the emperor, and gradually the relationship with gagaku deepened, and eventually those who performed gagaku were appointed as Efu officials, which made them the majority of the gakusho musicians, which led to the decline of the ryōsei gagaku ryo....

…別当には蔵人頭が任命される四位別当と，五位，六位の蔵人が任ぜられる五位(六位)別当の両者があった。楽人は《楽所補任》2巻によって，1110‐1262年(天永1‐弘長2)の任免が知られるが，それによれば，左右の近衛･兵衛･衛門のいわゆる六衛府の官人を中心に，興福寺，東大寺，石清水八幡宮などの寺社方楽人も任ぜられている。六衛府官人の奏楽は，嵯峨朝の814年(弘仁5)以後，天皇を囲む私的な宴会の場の余興として行われることが多くなり，しだいに雅楽との関係を深め，ついには雅楽を行うものは，衛府の官人に任ぜられるに至り，それが楽所楽人の主流を占め，令制雅楽寮衰退の原因となったのである。…
