Japanese: つる割れ病(蔓割れ病) - つるわれびょう（英語表記）fusarium wilt

This disease causes watermelon stems to shrivel up and crack, causing white mold to spurt out, about 30cm from the ground. At the beginning of the disease, the plant wilts during the day and regains vitality at night and in the morning, but gradually the lower leaves wither and when the stem is cut, the conductive tissue inside turns brown. It is a type of vascular disease that prevents moisture from rising. The pathogen is Fusarium oxysporum , which lives in the soil, and chlamydospores survive in the soil for a long time and become a source of infection.

全身が萎（いちよう）しているスイカの茎の地際から30cmくらいまでのところが，割れて白いカビを吹き出したようになる病害。病気のはじめには，昼はしおれ，夜間から朝には生気を取り戻すような状態が続くが，しだいに下葉が枯れ，茎を切ってみると内部の通導組織が褐色に変わっている。水分の上昇が妨げられる導管病の一種である。病原菌は土壌中に生息するFusarium oxysporumで，厚膜胞子は長く土の中で生き残り伝染源となる。
