A Chinese scholar and man of letters from the Qing Dynasty. Born in Qixia County, Shandong Province. His name was Xunjiu (Xunjiu). His pen name was Lango (Rankou). In 1799 (the 4th year of the Jianqing era), he passed the Jinshi examination and became a clerk in the House of Representatives. In 1799 (the 25th year of the same year), he became a clerk in the Jiangnan Office, and died five years later. He completely ignored advancement in the government and devoted himself to learning and writing, and his fields ranged from classical Chinese, history, geography, and linguistics to agriculture, fisheries, and biology. He wrote unique works such as "Beeya Xiao Ji" and "Swallow Spring and Autumn Annals," which describe the ecology of bees and swallows, and his main work, "Erya Yi Shu," describes plants, birds, and animals based on his own observations. He was also skilled in poetry and prose, and wrote excellent essays. His poetry and prose collections include "Shanshutang Wenshu, Shisho, and Billu." His other works include "Issue," "Records of Rites," "Zu Zheng Wen," and "Jin and Song Shu Ru." His wife, Wang Zhaoyuan (character name Duanyu), was also an excellent scholar, and wrote works such as "Annotated Biography of Women," as well as "Poetry Questions," a record of the couple's discussions about the "Book of Songs," and "Hemingji," a collection of poems that the couple recited together. They were well known as the "Qixia Hao couple."

中国，清の学者，文学者。山東省棲霞県の人。字，恂九（じゅんきゅう）。号，蘭皐（らんこう）。嘉慶4（1799）年進士に及第，戸部主事となり，同 25年江南司主事となり 5年後に没した。官界での立身をまったく無視し，学問，著述に専念，その分野も経学，史学，地理学，言語学から農学，水産学，生物学にまで及ぶ。ハチやツバメの生態を観察記述した『蜂衙小記』『燕子春秋』のような特異な著作があり，主著『爾雅義疏』も自分の見聞に依拠して草木鳥獣を解説している。詩文にも長じ，また優れた随筆もある。詩文集『曬書堂文集・詩鈔・筆録』。ほかに『易説』『礼記箋』『俗証文』『晋宋書故』など。なお，妻の王照円（字，端玉）も優れた学者で，『列女伝補注』などの著があり，また夫妻で『詩経』について問答した記録『詩問』，夫妻で唱和した詩集『和鳴集』があり，「棲霞の郝夫婦」の名が高かった。
