Female dance - Onnagatabuyo

...When young men's kabuki changed to male kabuki, which emerged after its ban, the "dance" system was introduced, and with the emergence of female actors, the focus of dance shifted from young men to female actors. In the Genroku period (1688-1704), "Shosagoto" was established, which added a dramatic element of imitation of "furi". The heyday of female actors' dance came in the following Kyoho to Horeki periods (1716-64), and masterpieces such as "Syatsukiyomono" and "Dojojimono" were born. After the Horeki period, the dance drama known as "Kyogen Joruri" was completed in the Tenmei period (1781-89) along with the development of Bungo-style Joruri (Tokiwazu, Tomimoto)...
