Female hairdresser - Onna Kamiya
〘 noun 〙 A woman whose occupation is to do women's hair. Also, that occupation. Around the Hoei period ( 1704-11 ), it was already being done in pleasure quarters, but it became popular among the general public around the Kansei period ( 1789-1801 ). ⇔ Men's hairdressing. ※Sharebon Tosei Kidorigusa (1773) "In recent years, women have been doing hairdressing, sometimes on a monthly basis, sometimes just pretending."
