〘Noun〙① (adjective verb) A state of being absent-minded and unclear. (i) The state in which the scenery of the moon, mountains, etc. is dimly obscured by mist or clouds. The state of being slightly cloudy. → Oboroge. [Season: Spring ] ※Tales of Ise (before the 10th century) 69 "I looked out and lay down, the moon was dim, and a small child stood before me." ( b ) The state of having unclear perception or memory. ※Mumyosho (around 1211) "By the time he was about 90, his ears had become dim as well." ② White fish such as sea bream and flounder or shrimp are boiled, and the flesh is ground up, seasoned, and stewed. Minced meat. ③ An abbreviation of "Oboro tofu" and "Oboro kombu."

〘名〙① (形動) ぼうっとして、はっきりしないさま。(イ) 霞や雲などによって月や山などの景色がぼんやりかすむさま。薄く曇っているさま。→朧気(おぼろげ)。《季・春》※伊勢物語(10C前)六九「外(と)のかたを見出だして臥せるに、月のおぼろなるに、ちひさき童(わらは)をさきに立て人立てり」(ロ) 知覚や記憶が不確かであるさま。※無名抄(1211頃)「九十ばかりに成りては、耳などもおぼろなりけるにや」② タイやヒラメなどの白身魚やエビをゆで、身だけすりつぶして味をつけ、いり煮にしたもの。そぼろ。③ 「おぼろどうふ(朧豆腐)」「おぼろこぶ(朧昆布)」などの略。
