This theory holds that the Earth is hollow inside and that it is possible for living things to live there. This usually refers to the theories that emerged after the 18th century when the heliocentric theory was established. Representative theories include the American JC Symmes' theory (1818) that there are large holes at the North and South Poles, inside which there are concentric spherical underground worlds, and the American CR Teed's theory (1870) that humans live on the other side of the Earth's crust and that the Sun and Moon float inside the Earth's hollow interior.
