...Katsura-gawa Koi no Saku (Love's Shack on the Katsura River), included in Miyazono Oumuseki (Parrot Stone) published in 1873 (Anei 2), is also estimated to have been written in the Horeki period. In Edo, the main plays were Tomimoto-bushi play Doyuki-segawa no Kyuunami (The Waves of the River of Vengeance) by Sakurada Jisuke I, performed at Ichimura-za in April 1881 (Tenmei 1), Tokiwazu-bushi play Obi no Ayakatsura no Kawamizu (Obi no Ayakatsura no Kawamizu), also written by Jisuke, performed at Miyako-za in January 1896 (Kansei 8), and Kiyomoto-bushi play Shian no Hokaku (Shian no Hokaku), written by Jisuke II, and set in Edo, performed at Nakamura-za in January 1819 (Bunsei 2). All of the plays are structured so that after the Oki, the play begins with Doyuki, where the couple reminisce, and then decide to commit double suicide, and then proceeds to the double suicide, but Obi no Ayakatsura no Kawamizu and Doyuki no Shian no Hokaku have an episode after the couple's decision to commit double suicide.
