The snake dragonfly Protohermes grandis (illustration) is about 4 cm long, with a wingspan of 8.5-12 cm, and has several pale yellow circular markings on the forewings and two or three on the hindwings. It is common in areas north of Kyushu, and is also found in the Korean Peninsula, China, and Taiwan.
