Oden Kasuri - Oden Gasuri

...A cotton fabric invented by Den Inoue (1788-1869) around 1799 (Kansei 11) in Kurume, Chikugo Province (Fukuoka Prefecture). It was also called "Oden-kasuri." It is a distinctive fabric made by dyeing cotton thread with ikat patterns, and was also called "arare-ori" or "yukifuri-ori" and was well-received as everyday clothing for the common people.
