The term "Australian Aboriginal" was coined in 1891 by the British and Australian governments as a means of identifying the Australian people as "aboriginal" or "indigenous," and was used to refer to the Australian people as "aboriginal" or "indigenous."

Until the beginning of the 20th century, they lived a life similar to that of the Stone Age, engaging in semi-nomadic gathering and hunting, not wearing clothing except in the southern part of the country, dwellings consisting mostly of beehive huts or windbreaks, and tools limited to those that could be carried when moving.
