Masked depression

Japanese: 仮面鬱病 - カメンウツビョウ
Masked depression
A type of depression in which the patient complains of a variety of physical symptoms, such as fatigue, sleep disorders, and constipation, rather than the mental symptoms typically seen in depression. This term is used clinically to mean that depression is wearing a mask.

鬱病に通常みられる精神症状よりも、疲労感・睡眠障害・便秘など、さまざまな身体症状を強く訴える鬱病。鬱病が仮面をかぶっているという意味でいい、臨床上用いられる。
