Ofunakoshi Seto

A strait on the east side of Aso Bay, located almost in the center of Tsushima Island, Nagasaki Prefecture. It is located at the bottom of a cuesta and was excavated by the So clan of Tsushima Domain in 1672, during the heyday of trade with Korea. It remains an important passageway for fishing boats today. 長崎県，対馬のほぼ中央にある浅茅湾の東側の瀬戸。ケスタ地形の低部にあたり，朝鮮貿易の盛期であった寛文 12 (1672) 年に対馬藩宗氏によって開削された。今日でも漁船の重要な通路である。浅茅湾に面して漁港の大船越がある。
