Born November 2, 1830. Father of Ohara Magosaburou. In 1858, he was adopted by wealthy merchant Ohara Sohei. In 1888, he became the first president of Kurashiki Spinning Mill (later Kurashiki Spinning), and in 1891, he established Kurashiki Bank. In 1908, he founded the Ohara Scholarship Foundation. He passed away on July 6, 1910. He was 78 years old. He was from Bitchu (Okayama Prefecture). His real surname was Fujita. His childhood name was Kozaburou. His pen names were Koyo and Shinkei.
