Born on May 21, 1858. The third son of Ohara Shigetomi. In 1866, he joined a proposal made by his father and 22 other nobles to expel pro-Shogunate nobles, and became a councillor. In 1861, he became an advisor and adviser to the new government. He later served in the Imperial Household Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in 1890, he became a member of the House of Peers. He was a count. He passed away on December 14, 1918.
