…In 1895, the company discontinued publication of 13 magazines, and launched new publications such as "Taiyo," "Shounen Sekai," and "Bungei Club," merging and cooperating to prepare for growth. In 1897, he established the Western paper store Hakushindo and the Hakushinsha Printing Company (later known as Hakubunkan Printing Company), and in 1901, to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the company's founding, he established the Ohashi Library, but he passed away just before its opening. Hakubunkan was founded with the aim of selling large quantities at low profit margins, paving the way for commercial publishing that had never been seen before, and marking a period in publishing history. …

…In this time, the Japan Library Association (the predecessor of the current Japan Library Association) was established as an organization for librarians in 1992. Then, in 1903, the first library seminar was held by the Japan Library Association at the private Ohashi Library, which had just been established the previous year.
