A former town in Nasu County, northeastern Tochigi Prefecture. The Naka River flows from west to south through the center of the town. Kurohane Town on the east bank was a castle town, and Kurohane Town on the west bank flourished as a river port for boat traffic on the Naka River. The town produces rice, vegetables, fruit, and timber, and also engages in dairy farming. In October 2005, it was incorporated into Yutsugami Village, Nasu County, and Otawara City. 187.47 km2 .
